Yes , we did. We love that show and was waiting for the new season to start. You can view the shows online. If you google the show it does mention the aspie traits of the characters. Smile I was actually thinking of doing a thread about the show.

Did anyone see "The Big Bang Theory" last night on CBS (American TV)?

Yeah, yeah, some stereotypes and cliches... but the leading character and his buddies are very Aspie and some of the writing and characterizations are pretty funny. There's an element of laughing at the characters (it's a sit-com) but they are also clearly the heroes and they are really endearing people -- the main character (Johnny Galecki) is a brilliant, sweet and thoroughly aspielicious guy. Some may remember him as the younger daughter's boyfriend on "Roseanne."

Scrubs is another of our favorites.

Yeah well in Scrubs (a proper medical comedy, love it btw Dr Cox reminds me so much of me it hurts Tongue) the Janitor pretends to be the Chief of Medicine (in this case a President Shinra like man) because he needed a new RPG because they banned him from his RPG club because he brought in a real Warhammer :p

I think all four are aspies.  Sheldon is definately the most obvious. My favorite episode is when he uses his neighbors key to go into her apartment at night to clean because he cant sleep knowing her apt is a mess Tongue
I never noticed the wipe boards changed, I'll have to look next time Smile

Oh, I see what you mean.  There is a topic posted there asking whether Sheldon is an Aspie.  http://thebigbangtheory.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=1347149%3ATopic%3A4864&x=1%231347149Comment6261&page=1

I think Sheldon certainly is but he probably isn't the only character on the show in that boat. :-)

My Significant Other loves the attention to detail on the set. He gets a big kick out of checking what is on Sheldon & Leonard's white boards each episode because he understands the stuff written there and it does change. We've discussed pretty much every object in their living room. What a treat the show is.

I like Frasier, too.

I should really check this show out, seeing as I love science, well-written shows, and socially awkward characters, and I finally figured out how to download things from iTunes.

My parents used to call my sons Niles and Frazier...(oh, and when I am pale, me Lilith) (when my kids were much younger, they do banter back and forth like them, big words, my oldest is sooo neat yes, but I told my mom to stop ) LOL I am so not like lilith! (except when she lets her hair down)

I thought the show was cute - I like the blond girl - she was on Charmed near the end...

I've seen commercials for Big bang theory, and my mom and brother have seen a few episodes and love it.  I'm not usually home at that time, so I'll have to download the episodes.  Sounds interestingSmile
