The last episode was where one of the geeks organizes a girl's apartment while she sleeps because he couldn't sleep after seeing her messynessness. If the show made light of aspergers, it might be worth mentioning.. But more likely you will see an "*** burger" joke instead. The humor is too slapstick, and it has that fake laughing audience which is very unnerving. Anyone watch Bones or House? There is a similar humor there where intelligence clashes with society, yet no lame fake laughing.
Criticism without constructive input is a destructive path. At least I gave alternative shows and hope vs reality of the shows future mention of AS. What have you contributed? Are you calling me odd?

Otherwise, it's odd to criticize a show for something that didn't happen.

Yea, 'House' is a mix of a medical drama and a sitcom.
LOL  I just watched the full episode online and laughed my butt off!  I love this show!  Thanks for telling us Smile
By the way, I like these characters way better than the Jerry character on Boston Legal.  I love Boston Legal but the way they protray Jerry bugs me. The characters on Big Bang are more endearing and less one dimensional.
I've watched both episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" and loved it!  I especially loved the last episode because to me, it showed Aspieness without weirdness.  One of the guys doesn't "get" sarcasm and takes everything literally and is OCD.  I found him to be very funny.  I love Boston Legal but the Jerry character bothers me a bit sometimes because I really see nothing very  Aspie about him but they certainly go to great lengths to show him as weird.
I love this show. I have purchased each episode from iTunes as it came out, and will do so for each coming episode. Not only for the subject matter, but for the writing. Very tight writing, and funny to ME  :-)

I like watching them over and over and watching for the details I missed before.

It’s true that there are some stereotypes, but none of the damaging ones, as far as I can tell. I’ve begun to wonder if this series will eventually help Aspergers become less threatening or, at least, more familiar to the NT culture.
Its too bad it comes on at 8:30... right after/during bedtime and right before Heroes...

(Yes, now you know the extent of my lavish Monday plans...)
You can watch each episode free online at the CBS link, after it airs.  I usually watch it the next day.  The only problem is that a portion of the sound is usually messed up in the online version.
The one last night was aspieliciously aspielicious -- a tentative "romance" between two Aspies, with a lot of "What did she mean when she said that? What does it mean when someone does that?" I love the Aspie girl on the show. She was the younger daughter on the old "Roseanne" show.

That was amusing when I found out she was cast for the show. My sister and neice nicknamed me "Darlene" years ago because they insisted that character acts/sounds just like me. (chuckle)

Watched it Monday night, very funny. Nick still isn't a fan... but I will sway him. He'd rather watch that lame "Chuck" show on NBC.
The writer's strike is finally over and The Big Bang Theory television show is back with a new episode last night.  Hooray!! Here it is online: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/big_bang_theory/

If you google the show it does mention the aspie traits of the characters.

Oh, I see what you mean.  There is a topic posted there asking whether Sheldon is an Aspie.  http://thebigbangtheory.ning.com/forum/t...261&page=1

I think Sheldon certainly is but he probably isn't the only character on the show in that boat. :-)

My Significant Other loves the attention to detail on the set. He gets a big kick out of checking what is on Sheldon & Leonard's white boards each episode because he understands the stuff written there and it does change. We've discussed pretty much every object in their living room. What a treat the show is.

I watched this show for the first time last night. I love it. I don't often laugh out loudly during programs but i defintely do in The Big Band Theory. To a point where it actually embarrases me. There's just so much aspieness!
