When you say 'Satanic', are you in fact referring to bands that either follow, or draw inspiration from LaVey's COS, the Temple Of Set, and groups like that, or are you referring to bands that are into Devil Worship, church burning and the like? --Many people confuse the two.

Could you tell me a little more about the difference here,COS is satanic, isnt it?
Or Does it worship Set?
By devil-worship,do you refear to the goat/lucifer or satan?

pentagrams fused together (and we all iknow the pentagram stands for Satan or something eerily similar).

its ACTUALLY the symbol of "magic",or paganism.
just like the pagan god "pan" became the Christian's image of satan.

the penticle has Nothing to do with satanism.
Nothing
read up before you accuse,mk'ay?

And I just found out that Behemoth is Pegan. So now I am wondering if they are really practice satanism, or if they just hate Christians with a hard passion.

They'd have to be just pagan - Satanists are Christian by definition...

Unless you're talking social Satanism - the ones that think society is corrupt, and as society is mostly Christian, they use the concept of Satan as an anti-society thing...

What i dont understzand is,how someone can be a satanist without beeing a cristian.

Here is a picture from Behemoth's, a real satanic/Anti-Christian band, myspace.

It never fails to amuse me Big Grin

Damn...

Amen....thing is,i agree with the statement XD

To be a satanist is to be defined by Christianity.   Christians still own them.   To believe in Hell you have to believe in a Heaven.. all things are relative. I think our fellow aspie Einstein would agree Smile

Just cuz your people were persecuted mercilessly by them for years ;p

what,the Irish?
God,don't get me started on what **** Christianity did for Ireland!

and yeah, saying you are a satanist because you hate the Christian church(s),is one of the ultimate ironys.

you are still following their belief patterns, ergo:you are a christian.

however,if you look bace at ohh, celtic mythology, look at Pan,the god of nature:

horn'ed
of cloven foot.
has a little tail.

in essence, the very image of the Christian Devil.
Yuletide/Christmas
All Hallows Eve/Halloween

and so on.

Christianity is a composite religion, assimilated from all the other religions, major and minor,of the time.

for reference,see:

Asatru mythology (Odinism/Norse)
Celtic Mythos

A lot of that was a very deliberate act on the part of the Christian church at the time - they couldn't stop the commoners from practicing the various pagan ceremonies, so instead they "Christianised" them, giving them the opportunity of doing what they'd always done with the consent of the law.

There's only two exceptions:

Halloween (Beltane) - a fertility festival generally featuring large sexual orgies. They couldn't bring themselves to let people practice it, so they spread stories about how evil the day was.

April fools day - where the local christians would play "tricks" on the followers of pagan religions - usually involving vandalising their houses, killing their livestock, etc.
