freedom is overrated and not as free as people tend to think just look at the patriot act.

it is but its not that much true freedom left. Many laws take away a little pice of it and most people dont see it until its to late (if they ever see it) and our freedom gets a little more restricted and a little smaller day by day.

but thats not what this thread is sbout. i think religion is the root of alot of evil in the world. i dont care if some one wants to belive in jesus, budda or That aliens created the world as long as they dont force there ideas on me or other people that arnt interesdet. Shure they can talk about it with people that contact them and want to know about it but i dont want to so stay out of my way an dont bother me with your stupid and childish belives.

i just dont understand why people see the bible as anything else than what it really is a very very old Fantasy/Sci-Fi book.  How can you live your life after a Fantacy/Sci-Fi book thats just retarded

sometimes when people are distressed and they are religious they might go to a religious statue and pray to god and ask for help. religion is something that helps people get through life, personally i believe in science (big bang, evolution, etc) but other people think that way.

Concerning religion, I grew up very eager to understand the bible and the nature of life/religion etc. especially since the pain of having Aspergers and related illness pushed me to want to know about why life was this way for me.

Having read the bible cover to cover, I had alot of questions which I never felt were fully answered by the preachers and pastors of the day.  No amount of prayer would ever help to seperate me from my vices either.

When I was 15, I began studying the Nag Hammadi Library, and learning about the Gnostics, whom the Roman Catholic Church had deemed to be heretics.  Approximately 300 years or so A.D. the council of Nicea was formed, where they got together and cannonized the books of the bible, meanwhile outcasting the other documents, and subsequently persecuting the Christian sects which didn't agree with them (i.e. the Gnostics).  I've also seen on the History Channel how they excavate ruins and find evidence that Jesus was in a group known as the Essenes (a Gnostic sect.).  I've also learned through studying articles and the History channel that it seems Judaism has an esoteric side referred to as the Kabbalah, which has been removed from Christendom, only to occassionally be dabbled in by the elite or by priests.

A few years ago, I stumbled into this site, and from that point forward it has dramaticly changed my life for the better.  I'm no longer a slave to the sins I once struggled to find resolve for, and I'm developing spiritual faculties which are really beyond my own or my friend's expectations.
