A very good point.

I know that the Catholic church opposes some sexual practices.  So does my church, we read pretty much the same Bible they do

Isn't there only one Bible?

Yes I know that there have been different translations of the original Bible & translations of translations, but surely the modern day Bible is the same in Western culture.

GuessWho Wrote:
The Seventh Day Adventists (or Joe Crews, The Secret Rapture) and others who claim that the Catholic Church is the beast in Revelations insist that the C.C. has changed the ten commandments to remove "Remember the Sabbath Day and to keep it holy".

I've never seen a Catholic Bible, and certainly I would be in no position to go back in time and see if a previous version said that.

I think the C.C. reads the Douay Bible.  I would need to buy one and read it to compare it to the NIV or KJV (New International or King James Versions).

So in short what you are saying is that there are many Bibles.

There is only one true Bible, the first collection of books written by various people ie.the first unadulterated one.

All of the others have been translated & amended to suit the various Christian faiths.

"superior" group are prone to crying "Offensive! Offensive!" when people of the oppressed group speak up. They can't say they are actually being harmed, oppressed or otherwise molested, so they say "I am offended" and expect the world to come to a halt. It's a joke, really. "Oh, you're offended? Really? Oh, dear, what can we do?" I see 'that is offensive!" being used as a tool of the oppressors to silence dissenting speech and actions.

I think that you have hit the nail on the head.
I would also add that many oppressors use devious behind the scenes methods in order to  obtain / maintain their objectives & to further oppress.

Freedom of speech is essential to obtain / maintain balance & equality.

I have an objection to anyone who says
"You should read. ".
"You want to read".
" You must read".

This is a form of bullying & an attempt to prove that one is right because the book says so.

It really is MUCH better to say
" I suggest ". or
"have you tried".
I am at present trying to navigate the minefield of the welfare system.
I lost my job through ill health, & the wonderful NHS employers messed up my final pay, causing me to be over £3,000 under paid...this has caused a great deal of work for everyone concerned, not least the poor woman in the payroll department who has been doing her best to sort it out.
This has delayed my pension as they obviously need to know the final years' pay in order to sort it out.
In the meantime I do have to pay bills & feed the family, so I am now attempting to get what is due to me & for what I have payed taxes for 40 + years for.
6 Hours yesterday to complete a 50 page form... & then it says ring this number to find out where to send the *******form !..........many would find this too intimidating to even attempt..I put it off for long enough.Rolleyes

God help those who are very elderly or are clueless, I really feel very sorry for them.

Soooooo true. It's a shell game -- a cheap diversion with the politicians funnelling public money into their own pockets and the corporate coffers, while they point an accusatory finger at struggling mothers and kids and cry "There are the scoundrels!"

Yes you are all correct about those who complain having their faces in the through first.

I'm am not looking for sympathy...this is how life is & in the overall scheme of things, I'm pretty well off, but for others' sometimes every little helps.Smile

My way of thinking is the more that people are aware of things & that others' have difficulties, the more likely that other's won't feel bad about things & may themselves seek help.Smile

Can't believe you had to spend 6 hours to fill out a 50 page form!! YIKES. Paperwork.

Thanks Mahler5 , this is very much appreciated.
The forms are deliberately  complicated in order to put off would be claimants & it is a very effective measure !!!

Unfortunately, it is the ones who are most ill, intimidated & uneducated  & who need the help most who are put off by them.

I disagree about just staying home with the kids . Working gives experience for better paying jobs.. and training..   Welfare is not working.. My mother and mil were both widows at an early age.  Neither took welfare.  I am against the welfare system unless the parties are getting training to get a job or psychiatric help for their disorders which make them un employable.  Welfare does more harm than good.  A entry job always pays less, hence you need to put in your training time to get the better paying job.

To accept doom of entry only is not healthy, esp for aspies.
As an aspie, if one is taking welfare, is one getting the help to adjust to the working world to make a life for themselves? There are more programs today which help aspies to ajust in the world of business, whether one  isa parent or not they should try.

If one can have sex and be a parent but can one support her/his children? Is that responsible? Producing children one cannot support? Welfare has been shown not to work.

Do you live in the same world as the rest of us?
I live in the UK, I have paid National Insurance stamp for all of my working life, This  involuntary contribution is made in order to give us benefits should we need them.

Even if you were to assume that I wasn't ill, please tell me where in the UK I would be able to receive training?
If I was able to receive training, who at age 57, is going to employ me?

This makes no sense whatsoever in particular the part which I have underlined:-

Yes, that's exactly right. As far as I'm concerned, I have paid my taxes for years and so have my relatives so if I am in a position where I can't find work and am eligible for a benefit, I will take it with both hands. Pride doesn't put food on the table.

Despite being relatively lightly affected by autism, I have a history of depression and anxiety conditions. That in conjunction with my age (over 35) means little chance of finding a decent job (or in fact, any job) if I left or lost the one I'm now in. So how it is humane to force even worse affected people to try and find non-existent jobs? Why not let them have some dignity and go on a pension if that is what they would prefer?

With a wide-ranging consumption tax such as the GST or VAT, lower income earners and welfare recipients pay a higher proportion of their income in tax than higher income earners. I think they already do their bit so shouldn't be penalised by stricter rules.

I've been working as a 'casual' since arriving in Australia. I was managing to do everything that was expected of me despite having two untreated heart conditions. My co-workers and the immediate management were very pleased with my work.

Then I had a mini-stroke in June which led to me finally getting my diagnoses. I was put on appropriate medication and told by both my cardiologist and my GP that I was fit for work. In fact, fitter than I had been for years.

My manager and my co-workers were delighted at the prospect of having me back at work but the personnel department at head office reckon I no longer meet their fitness criteria. Now what? I cannot claim any benefits but I cannot see anyone else taking me on either.

Here are two ill, courageous  & wise women who spend a great deal of time helping other people ( a lot more than I ever could ), despite their personal problems.

These two do not carry on & shout at other people because the others disagree.

They help, help & help, often despite the fact that the people who they are trying to help don't or can't listen to their good advice....they persevere because they understand.
They see a problem & do their damnedest to do something about it.

In my opinion they deserve a medal....not dissent.

I recall on a thread somewhere someone complaining that to say " I agree" etc. is 'ganging up' or something like that.

It is not ganging up to agree ,disagree or to sympathise with someone.

Yetti Wrote:
No its not.. some already stated they are or are waiting to be. No where did I state all. And many have stated they are self diagnosed. Considering other disorder ride along asperger's , those disorders are not being handled.

No where did I belittle people. As I stated before if you are uncomfortable with the facts so be it.  Don't blame others.

There are many who are showing that they do not even understand their asperger's much less the other behavior they are exhibiting that reflect possible other disorders.  This makes for Bedlham..... Just post after post of attacks each day or hour.

One here who is the most verbal in personal attacks did not even know what an aspie melt down is. That makes me suspect of this person even have aspergers.. this is the internet... anyone can claim anything.

I am sure there ae some who are even involved with illegal drugs for self medication.  And are these people suppose to have coherant communication?

It is fact pedophelia is heavy on the internet.. I would not be too surprized if the board carries a few and they are the first to attack  me for discussing it.

Welfare does little except to make a person dependant and not seek their own achievements....the best thing we can do as society is to make sure children are diagnosed early, educate their parents and the public, and provide medication which helps.

People can create their own businesses on the internet if they cannot work in the public... but to me, being versitile has a better chance of survival...

The more we can educate society about asperger's , the better it will be for aspies and the world.   Having any tom dick or harry come on these boards and act like sheer hooligans does nothing for the cause of those of us who truly have Aspergers.

In fact its embarassing to see such behavior touted as from an aspie.
Therefore these boards, with exception of fact communication mean little.

2% of us are functionally employed... the percentage of that 2% for great success is even smaller.  How difficult it is for an aspie who is successful to give the world facts and hope to other aspies when such hooliganism perpetuates itself as aspieness.

I will keep dropping info when I deem necessary... for those who seriously want answers and for those who really have asperger's or have children with aspergers and do not want to end up as the 98% who cannot get jobs or function in society...

Best of luck to everyone... Email me anytime.. I will pop in from time to time ...WHEN I have time... Cheers Smile

I get the feeling some people are on this board all the time because they are not in therapy and/or they on are the societies payroll and not working.

I am against Public welfare and it would behoove an aspie and society to get $$ for Behavioral therapy and not sitting on the internet all day.

Its more than a little presumptuous to assume that people on this board require therapy or else they should be in employment. Many people don‘t work for medical reasons, others may be retired or be too young to work. A single parent bringing up a child is at least as valuable as someone in paid employment. Some people here may be in receipt of welfare--but that doesn’t mean they’re worth any less than someone who’s working.

Yetti Wrote:
Attacking people in discussions will not serve to help an aspie learn need skills to work with others in a social group.

On the contrary--attacking someone who belittles others and behaves in a high-handedly manner toward those who don’t agree with her world view--helps an aspie develop very good social skills and brings an understand of the dynamics of conflict.

Yetti Wrote:
To many are not even diagnosed here, meaning they probably have other disorders which are not being addressed.

Just because someone isn’t officially diagnosed doesn’t mean “they probably have other disorders”. Nor does it mean they’re not an aspie. It just means they don’t have an official diagnosis--that’s all.

Yetti Wrote:
The issues discussed here can be found in more controlled places. .esp if there are people on the board using controlled substances illegally and venting on the internet.

Where did that come from? Are we all drug users now?

Ian did not write the above!

Don't make me stamp on your face.

I did college and for what? unemployment.

As I told my student a degree offers education and open doors... The question is.. can you GET a job?  do you have what it takes to get one.. Degrees cannot guarantee ability to work..  If one is unemployed, and they feel they have mental challenges.. why aren't they at the state psychiatrists office.. and doing what needs to be done to work in this world.

As an aspie it was never easy for me... 3 major meltdowns in my life.. and many aspie rages  locked myself in the privacy of my own bathroom so as not to bother others.   To teach myself control thinking it was learned behavior... when in reality it was my wiring...

I did not have these where they affected my work... where I received more training and promotions.  The pain was horrific and I was alone... My husband hated to see me suffer like this...

With my new knowledge I know to keep myself stress free and to not react with knee jerk reactions as much as possible to others differenceof opinion, rants, and personal attacks... Knowledge is power and if someone really wants to learn how to make their life better they would seek all the help and information they could find.

It boils down to whether you really want to improve or not... Overcoming ones insecurities makes one a strong person...exponentially over time..

All that I see here is a self proclaimed highly educated person.

Who cannot quote, or chooses to misquote  other people to her own ends.

Who speaks as if English is her third language.

Who speaks & rants incoherently with no knowledge or substance to her superior knowledge

Who accuses anyone who disagrees with her as being a liar / on drugs / mentally ill  / deliberately not working /  requiring therapy etc.

Who has no knowledge of medical services in her own country & certainly not in any others.

Who has access to doctors who are at the top of their profession.

Who has such terrible meltdowns that she needs to hide in the bathroom....but never has one at work.

Who is about as hard core aspie as you can find.

What can I say!!
