I have been playing around with the gradient tool in photoshop recently, and I am surprised of what the tool can do when used outside the box.

Deep

This my current desktop background
For 1280x1024 resolution monitors

- I made this with only gradients (one normal gradient, and all the others I used the "Diffrence" effect), and a bubble texture that overlays the gradients. I think the texture gives the gradients a layered effect.
- The font I used for "Deep" is called StarCraft (since it is the font used for the game of starcraft), and can be downloaded at starcraft.org.

I have more to show, once I get the darn things uploaded.

While you wait, you can enjoy "Deep". You may even make it your desktop background, if you want to be hip Tongue
Oh,  and someone said that "deep" looks like over exaggerated alien skin tissue. I had to take another look at my picture and I saw what he meant.

So yeah, gradients can do damn cool things.
I learned how to do all of the artsy stuff through tutorials and playing around with filters and layer properties. It is confusing when you start, but it becomes easy once you know how most of everything works. You can Google up a few tutorials on your version of photoshop, make sure they are for your level of training though.

That is freaking awesome o.o. Did you texture it, or did the blood already have the brown cracks in it?
