I know that this is probably a dumb suggestion, but it would be good if there could be a forum here for not-so high functioning people and / or those aspies who have learning difficulties in which people are not permitted to use over-complicated language, or be mean or aggressive, or make fun of people.

I struggle with this site because although I really like it I feel like it is more for the intellectual elite of the spectrum, and as someone who is more 'challenged' I often feel afraid to post and when I do things I say often get misinterpreted or people have a go at me, or I don't get any replies at all.

If anyone could recommend any alternative sites that would be more suitable for a more challenged aspie, I would appreciate this.

Please don't be mean.
It isn't at all a dumb suggestion. I think that it is a very sensible suggestion. I'm sorry that you struggle with this site as we are all quite nice, really.

As for the long words - I know I'm one of the worst here for that, but usually only against people who are boasting or being mean to other people.

Funny, but it is quite hard to tell who is brighter than whom on this board as we can each take as long as we like to sort out our posts before sending them!

Please stick around, I like your posts. Big Grin

Unfortunately, I seem to be mean without meaning to be mean.  I did it just last night. Even more unfortunately, efforts to explain what I really meant can end up worse than the original misunderstanding.  Short story: I never mean to be mean. If I have, forgive me.

I have never thought you were mean. I was referring to something else.

I understand what you are saying. Sometimes people misinterpret what others are saying - and sometimes they themselves get misinterpreted too.
