I disagree with the 300 Aspies plan. This plan is equivalent to war, which is something we don't need. A war would only lead to further discrimination.

Shamshir,
I like your idea a lot, provided that we remember that it is a symbolic and not a literal war cry. I think it could be fun if done in the right spirit.
...And, one more thing, the e^x gang wants a third of the loot! Our Gang headquarters is in the Fun and Chat Section if you want to join, and maybe we cut you a deal...
Don Aspie'ony, wishing that maybe he had taken his doctor up on medications!
Don As
This is blasphemy, this is madness!
Madness? THIS. IS. SPECTRUM!
*Kicks you down gian bottomless pit* >=)
I like the idea of 300 Aspies gathering in front of a place like "Autism Speaks" and saying simply, "thousands of years ago, 300 men of war stood their ground. Today, we 300 of peace stand our ground against discrimination, hate, and fear."
Or something more eloquent.
Scooter.
You recive my badass award.
Can we still do that white flag idea to advocate repealing the "Combating Autism" act?
Absolutely. The biggest problem we have with organising these sorts of protests at the moment is that not many of us are from the same country - and those that are from the same country are generally a long way away from each other.
If we can find a large enough group (10-20 people would do) willing and able to get to the White House, then it's a great idea. Otherwise, we'll have to think of something clever that lots of scattered individuals could do...
BIGGEST. IDEA. EVAR.
How about spreading the word throughout the world via posters?
Alright creative people, let's see your stuff! ^_^

I can't get how the concept "combating autism" made it into mainstream (in america). I thought we were combatting terrorism, and drugs, just say no to drugs, terrorists and austitics?
If the trip to DC is aspie friendly - such as we all meet up at exactly the same place/time and protest for a short time, I think it is doable. I will get my group (and my cute kids) out and carry signs that say, Combatting ignorance etc.,
When and where? This summer?
