Kinda reminds me of myself. I'd probably be like that in front of a camera.

Can you tell me what channel this show is on, and what time it's on?

I am on the East Coast of the USA.

For me it is 8pm on CW. Hope that helps. Try Yahoo tv for schedules to be sure.

I thought it was odd that the judge said she was 'very brave for coming on the show.' I don't know if it is good or bad, but I don't really understand what is specifically brave about a person with asperger's going on a show.

As far as having to be very high functioning- she probably is, but aren't there aspies who are less sensitive to touch and love to have their hair played with and to get hugs from everyone?

I think she is very beautiful. Her photograph looked nice, and I always love the dark hair/pale skin combo.

There is a synopsis of the show here.

Strange, but I was sure I was reading this same wiki entry yesterday and it had all the episodes described with the final two contestants.  Heather got kicked off in episode 3 for not being versatile enough in runway and commercial work although her still photos were great.

It's the fourth episode, and Heather is still in. She got called second and the photographer said she followed his direction very well- so she is still doing well it seems.

Also you can see the episodes, and maybe more (I'm not sure) here:

Hmmm... does Heather ever refer to herself as "nerdy" in this show, or is that someone else...?

I remember a girl telling me I looked like "that one nerd on America's Next Top Model, not that you're a nerd, I just mean you look like her, which is a compliment." (She then spent about half an hour trying to explain that... I think she misinterpreted the blank stare I gave her that meant, "Who the heck is that?")

I can't stand reality TV, but for those of you who are watching it, do you know if Heather was the one the girl was talking about?
^ Really...? That's... interesting.
Well good luck to Heather, but I wonder if she is using her Aspergers as a pity factor <<
True. But we haven't seen any aspie like symtoms so far. Nothing major at least. "I just wonder why she stated she was Aspie unless she is going for pity."
^ That would be cute.
I didn't like how she kept talking about her "disability".
Seems Heather even has the New York Times writing about her now. (Pardone me if I post a similar link, 12 pages of stuff to read through. x.x )

Bravo, Ms. Kuzmich, bravo.
I think its interesting what she's doing, and along with Craig Nichols who struggled within a lot of situations, she's chosen the path she wants to take and she'll have to go through the difficulties that come along with it. As long as she knows what she's getting into its fine. Its quite a difference than what a lot of us would consider for a career.

Look, this all wouldn't be an issue if Heather didn't say she wanted to be a spokesperson for people with Asperger's Syndrome. She does not represent all of us. It'd be nice if we had someone representing us, that didn't appear to be trying so hard to be NT.

We don't have many high profile Aspergers people, so there really aren't many choices.  Further to that, nobody is going to represent all   people with Aspergers.  If you want someone to represent people like yourself, then maybe you should stop spending your time bashing someone who is spreading Aspergers Awareness and go out there and achieve something so you can be a spokesperson.

P.S.  I think Heather is a wonderful spokesperson and she has qualities that people can look up to.

I agree that Heather is a wonderful spokesperson..
Personally I am not at all interested in modelling-and never fuss with clothes, make up, hair etc. But I think Heather has set a goal for herself, worked hard to achieve it, and didn't give up when she had difficulties-and she was very forgiving of the other girls on the show who teased and bullied her.  No doubt she also has had a lot to contend with in her life. The fact that she picked modelling as a passion, career goal-something that is foreign to me- is not important in the scheme of things.
I am impressed with her dedication and admire her spirit~

Violet, I think you're misunderstanding what a lot of the posters here have said. Sometimes I misread things too and re-reading posts that have bothered me helps me to understand things better.

I don't agree with any of the points you made in your first paragraph about the other posters on this thread.

For instance, I think that inner beauty is far superior to outer beauty. I do not think that you can have one OR the other. From what I've seen of Heather, she seems to have both types of beauty. Also, I think that people come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, personalities and neurotypes- the great spectrum of humanity. Some people are built different ways.

Sadly, the society that we live in thinks that there is only one "ideal" and that ideal is impossible for anyone to live up to. I personally believe that so long as a person lives in a healthy way, they are just the right size.
