I've never been a fan of anime but caught this on the Movie channel a week ago, and found it to be simply enchanting and wonderful.
Anyone else think this movie is as good as I thought it was?
BTW, I did see Princess Mononoke several years, but wasn't half as impressed as I was with this movie.
I used to watch lots of cartoons as a kid like disney and smurfs, when a bit older i liked the cartoon called Dexters lab.
LOVE it!
Actually, that's the movie Erich and I saw on our first date.
I rented it on DVD at the prompting of my boys and loved it.
I've watched a lot of anime and found it to be wonderful.
Again at my sons' request I prefer to watch it in the original language with English sub-titles.
I have watched many studio Ghibli animations and I liked most of them. They really take you to a world that is adorable and magical. One of my favourites is Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Princess Monoke and Spirited Away are also very good. It's wonderful escapism.
We love Ghilbi at our house.
Spirited Away is good but is too scary for the kiddo that's afraid of everything...
Kiki's Delivery service is another favorite...
I keep wanting to find my neighbor totoro, but haven't.
I will be happy when my kids can read enough for the subtitles... that would be a fun experience for them!
I don't know much about this Studio Ghilbi or anything, I was merely saying that as a film--an animated one, at that--I found this movie to be quite wonderful.
I don't watch much anime, so I was just evaluating the movie the way I would everything else.
