My brother goes to a school where he is required to wear underpants. But he doesn't like the feel of elastic and can't find any underwear or boxers or anything without elastic. This causes big fights at home and at school. Is there anywhere we can get underpants or boxers without elastic? :face: <- is a hopeful emoticon.
Have you tried him wearing a larger size, or two sizes larger? Big enough to feel loose so he wont be bothered by the elastic, but with just enough grip to not fall down.
yes, he already wears everything so big it falls off and doesn't look decent. he gets really mad at elastic.
Evan has this similar problem so I just get some boxers with elastic, take the elasic out and put in a drawstring. If all else fails make it yourself :lol:
If the elastic is in a casing (totally covered with fabric) and not too tight, will it bother him? Otherwise, if he wore something like overalls that would not fall down, how are they going to know if he's wearing underwear or not?!
What kind of slacks or pants does he wear right now?

I you wear boxers and the elastic bothered me too when I you was younger my mother turned the elastic over like folding the band over two times and I you still didn't like the boxers now I you am older and throw them in the corner no more boxers for Tyler.
I would either sew boxers or cut the elastic off a pair I buy, and sew on t-shirt ribbing! I think that would feel nice and would actually stay up.

I am thinking that the reason underpants are required is because the students must wear short pants or it is required for gym shorts. Is the reason just for modesty? You didn't mention the age of your brother.
Another idea would be to make a buttoned in lining in the pants that could be removed for washing. If it is just for hygiene reasons that underpants must be worn, he could just get more pants and wash them more often.
If the problem is changing in front of others into gym clothing why can't he just change in the bathroom stall?

I also wonder if he could be excused from gym. The elastic that is in a fabric casing is aways more comfortable to me than the really scratchy elastic. I also have issues with tags in clothes and usually need to remove them; something that I've heard is very common with Aspies.
