Can you do that thing with your nose--you know, the thing Elizabeth Montgomery does in Bewitched?

I remember trying - didn't work for me either.

Wilky - Follyfoot I remember - I used to think that I looked like the lead character http://follyfoot-tv.co.uk/
Looking now - she looks similar to my daughter - same smile.

Cat weasel. Was that the guy who did an accidental time travel? If so, I've actually thought about him and his amazement over a light switch just recently...

SHOW ME THE SECRET OF THY ELECTRICKERY!!!

My first were (possibly -- I was about two so my memory is a bit fuzzy)

"Flipper" -- bit of a dolphin obsession at the time.

"Playschool"

"Sesame Street"

...No surprises there. But "Flipper" was definitely one. -- Later I learnt that the dolphin noise was actually a kookaburra!! Tongue

1.  Family Feud
2.  Too Close for Comfort
3.  Barney Miller

BTW, it was around 1981-1982 when those shows were on the air.

I was born in 1979.

wahahah! :p
Superted!!! I love(d) Superted!!! I used to know the entire introduction off by heart -- still do, to a degree -- and would see how fast I could quote it before the narrator did.

It's been a while. Some holes in my memory, but...

"This is the story of an ordinary teddy bear [...] When he was being made, they found something wrong with him, and threw him away like a piece of [rubbish? junk?] into an old dark storeroom. Then, from outer space, a spotty man brought him to life with his cosmic dust. He took him to a magic cloud, where Mother Nature gave him special powers. That bear became SUPER TED. [Ever alert for the call to action (?)]"

Although haven't seen a single episode since I was about ten or twelve.

Others from when I was six or so - not the first, but hey.

Ulysses
Cities of Gold
Astroboy
He-Man
Voltron

...etc.
The Woodentops
Andy Pandy
Twizzle
Dr. Who.

We didn't get a tv until I was 8.

Yeah, I loved Catweazle. Didn't watch Folly Foot but wasn't it about horses? Mum didn't like shows about cute animals for some reason so the only way I got to watch things like Lassie was when my brother and I went to the house across the road and watched their TV.

I also remember "The Flinstones", "Adventure Island" and a show with Sue Becker where she used to teach people how to do exercises (I suppose it was a forerunner of the aerobics shows). There was also Julius Sumner -Miller with "Why Is It So", Dr Who with the guy who used to play the flute (his name will come back to me) and "It's Academic".

Shows such as 4 Corners, Vision On, Checkerboard and Today Tonight were also some of the earlier ones I can remember, plus Magilla Gorilla, The Jetsons, Adam Ant, Cattanooga Cats, Banana Splits, Guzoola, Kimba the White Lion, The Nutty Squirrels, Andy Pandy (I thought it was a very babyish show though), Paulus The Wood Gnome", "Hubble Bubble" (onlly my little brother and I put rude words into the theme song and used to sing it around the house) and Play School.

Sadly, we didn't get colour TV in Australia until 1975 and with most of the cartoons, you didn't get the full benefit of them unless you had colour.

Did anyone ever watch Mork and Mindy? This was a big favourite of mine when I growing up.

Yeah, I liked Mork better - Mindy seemed a bit neurotic. Did you get "Small Wonder" and "Alf?". They were on around the same time or a bit later in the 1980's.

I also liked Sesame Street in the earlier years but found it started to get a bit too politically correct after the 1st 5 years or so.

There were also some good shows on the ABC like Metal Mickey and Quark.

One of the first shows I saw in colour was "Countdown" with Molly Meldrum. I watched it religiously for several years but it eventually died off. I also liked "Flashez" (a locally produced music show) on ABC, and of course, just LOVED "The Goodies" and "Are You Being Served".
I also watched a lot of cricket in the first couple of years we had colour TV. It was pretty cool being able to fall asleep on the sofa listening to the cricket.
Some early favorites:

* Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom, hosted by Marlin Perkins.  Typically for me, I found the commercials equally memorable, little spots in which a pleasant-voiced man sang "Mu-tu-al of O-ma-haaa is people/You can count on when the going's rough." Cool  I swear I have perfect recall of his voice!  I remember the song in the right key and everything.  (I think.)  Is that odd? Tongue

* Sesame Street (of course)...and The Electric Company, with its loud exciting opening theme featuring Rita Moreno yelling "HEY YOU GUYYYS!!"  I loved to jump up and down while the theme was playing. Big Grin

* Zoom, a local (Boston) educational variety show starring "real kids" (no prior acting experience) not many years older than I.  I was very impressed by how adult they seemed to be! Rolleyes

* Various 1970s late-night crime shows which I would overhear on the (black-and-white) TV downstairs when I woke up in the middle of the night, as I often did.  As a teenager, I was finally allowed to stay up late and watch them! Cool

* The Krofft Supershow, a collection of cheesy kids' shows (mostly live-action) that I used to watch on Saturday mornings...Lidsville, ElectraWoman and DynaGirl, Lost Saucer...does anyone remember more of these? Cool
