I got a mildly threatening email recently.  Not from anyone here but probably from some other group I am on.

What should I do, other than ignore and not open any more emails from that person?

How threatening does the email have to be before I should call the police or do something else?

I'd say any of two things.  Either death threats, which should always be reported (I've gotten a fair number of those).  Or else threats of lesser violence where the person clearly knows exactly where you live etc.

It could be a stupid SPAM message sent a random that ironically has a threatening tinge to it.

what kind of things did this person say?

was it the usual primitive "retard" slur? or a death threat?

either way I wouldn't respond to it and why did they send this message to you did you get their name?
if so you could report it to the other forum's administrator

I suppose a "mildly threatening" message is not a death threat.
I'd mark it as spam so if he writes more to you, it's going to land in the RIGHT folder ;)
block and report.

forward the email to a moderator, and place that email address on your ignore list.
