Hi all,

I very rarely post, but just wanted to say that last month I was assessed at CLASS, and given a formal dx of AS Smile

how's that feel bridie? does it make some kind of difference? i'm interested because i'm queueing for a diagnosis at present. i feel that it will matter. it surely will piss me off if they say i don't diagnose as AS! ;-)

Hi BarefootSmile

It was a big relief, as I don't know what I would have done if they had said 'no'! Rolleyes

There has definitely been an element of 'closure' for want of a better term as I am in my 40s but have obviously felt 'different' all my life.

The consultant was great because he kept saying the dx is a positive thing, and he tried to be very positive about me too, which was nice (apparently I also have serious self-esteem problems too).

My family have been quite funny...one SIL who has known me for over 30 years asked my mum how she should speak to me now! One brother has been great but the other won't speak about it at all.

It is quite a weird feeling to think 'I am autistic', kind of like when you first find out you are pregnant!

Hope you get your dx soonSmile
