I want to write a script for a new Tom Hanks movie. I have an idea & wanna hear some input. I don't have a title yet but Tom Hanks is, Chris Stillent who is a Rochester resource teacher at a high school. When he is placed in charge of looking after the autistic children he notices that they're all underdogged & lonesome. Heartbroken, Chris vows to teach the school to accept them & make their lives unforgettable.
I haven't come up with a title but I was thinking of "The Resource Room"
So it's kind of a "Stand and Deliver" meets "Rain Man"? Interesting. The last time I heard Mr. Hanks do a foreign accent was in a movie called "The Terminal."
Out of all the people working in Hollywood today, why Tom Hanks?
Is this definitely a screenplay and not fiction you want to write? If TH's charactrer is an American come to Britain for some reason, that could be interesting. Perhaps a local love-interest for Mr. Stillent?
And just how autistic are these kids? Able to speak? Individual aides?
Let's say we have some outward event that helps bring the whole school together, some emergency. A fire. A flood. Some violence. I don't know what it's like in Rochester; I'm Canadian.

No offense, genghis45, but I really hate movies like this.
It's always the noble white guy who stands up for the black people, always Kevin Costner as the focus of a movie about Indians (Dances with Wolves) -- "Minorities" who are rescued from their lowly state by the Great White Straight NT Male. Minorities who are marginalized in their own stories.
Let the teacher be Aspie/autistic -- let him be the one who knows what the kids need, not some Great Benevolent NT God. maybe the school doesn't exactly realize he's Aspie when they hire him, and when he 'comes out" they want to fire him...
And can you get Ryan Gosling or Joseph Gordon-Levitt instead of tired old Tom?
(... and maybe max should just go write his own movie...
