And bluntly I don't feel honoured at all - if only because it attracted trouble from others who are enemies of mine from elsewhere and caused me considerable distress. I might not have minded otherwise.

my own experience is people hate or disaproved of others because they do not grasp their behavior. it's a clear sign of flexibility to judge anybody who is not like you.
So for me ignorance is at the root of all hate
if anybody comes up to you and tells you there is something weird or stupid about you or even calls you a bitch, does that mean it's true?
NO WAY!
it means they are limited in their own minds to look beyond behavior or looks.
if anybody hates you it tells you somethings about that person instead of thinking it is about you.
all you have to learn is to leave that comment with those people. because it their frustration, ignorance or limitations that will make them behave like this.
don't make the mistake of making this personal. it's all about them!

I've had stuff like this happen to me, too, throughout the years (not as much lately though--I'm now 26), I find it's a result of two things put together that people notice:
1) Not wearing trendy clothes (I guess NTs assume if you're not dressing to impress women, you might be gay)
2) Anxious/awkward way of walking
I don't change my wardrobe to please idiots on the street, though, and I won't. As much as I hate morons shouting at me.
But I find a good way to avoid a lot of this, for males at least, is to "walk with rhythm" because it implies confidence for some reason. Just walk with a "light sway." I had to learn to walk this way in high school, and once I did, suddenly things got a lot better. It didn't work in every situation though, and the jerks still picked up on my constant anxiety. But it still worked.

I too,have found it impossible to find work (UK).the second they find out i am an Aspie,wham,sorry someone better suited has been found.
the single exception? the "local" webcafe.i say local,its about an hour away,and the buses run..once every two hours,and they stop at 5PM....so,dispite the fact that they actually offered me the job,i didnt ask for it,i couldn't take it...

I am guilty of the same infraction, over and over--I complain and dance around the same issues, same problems time and time again, without fixing anything. It seems to be a common AS tendency. And now we have people here being punished for it, verbally.
If you're going to punish them, you'll have to punish me, as well.
I'm a complainer and I'm resistant to change, not a great combination. But it seems common with AS.
The repeating thing's not really an issue - people are only attacking Guess Who over his anti-gay comments. It sounds like he may have privately agreed not to post these any more, so no more problem.
