Aspies For Freedom

I was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome by a licensed psychaitrist and when I try to explain to my co-workers about the syndrome their reply is always something like "Oh, you have social problems because you spend too much of your free time on the computer" or "You just think you deserve special treatment." I try explaning to a co-worker named Parker that it's a real condition and Parker says "Shrinks and psycologists will diagnose you with anything if the price is right. You're nothing more than a paycheck to them."

Then there's a man I talk to regularly in another department named Robert. He says "I was misdiagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I was correctly diagnosed with Ass-Berger's Syndrome. It's similar to Asperger's but I'm an ass because everybody hates me so I hate everybody and it's treatable with burgers."

I'll admit that I don't have many friends at work. I am not the most popular person there. This is not because of my AS but because of my ethics. The aforementioned Parker was viewing porn on his workstation. I felt that it was my civic duty to inform his supervisor and Parker received a letter in his file for doing so. And Robert idolizes Parker and will try to be like him and believe anything that he tells him so it's obvious that Parker told Robert about the incident (and probably left out the porn on the company computer, i'll bet.)

I did not change the names to protect the innocent. Robert and Parker are not innocent. They will have to answer to God for their actions on Judgement Day.
It's also said that whistleblowers in the workplace often have aspie tendencies: we tend to believe in justice and fairness for all, regardless of rank or privilege. I think it is pretty rank looking at porn when a person is supposed to be working.

Where I work, it is now a sackable offense. The Australian Public Service is really starting to crack down on online porn and not before time either.

People like your colleague rely on most others turning a blind eye to their wrongdoings and like to make cheap jokes at others' expense; hence the "ass burgers" comments.
