I went to my local Carphone Warehouse (a UK cellphone retailer) and bought one of these for Maria - Nokia 6085:

I showed her this pic in an Email and she said that's the phone she wanted to buy but it's so expensive where she is - it's almost £120 in the Philippines, but I bought a SIM free version for £80.

My verdict on the phone?

Well, it's actually a nice little phone. The 128x160 pixel 262,144 color screen is small compared to my Samsung E900 (240x320 pixels and 16 million colors), but it's crisp and clear, and unlike her current phone (Nokia 6600), this allows full size wallpapers instead of a wallpaper taking up only part of the screen.

The sound quality is better than I expected - IMO, one of Nokia's weak points has always been their sound quality. The vibrate function is more powerful than my Samsung and unlike mine, the 6085 is Quadband. It also has a MicroSD card slot, which is a blessing since its internal memory is only 4Mb.

Good points: Excellent sound quality, vibrate is powerful, good talktime and standby time.

Bad points: Poor internal memory, screen is a bit small.
