That is an awesome list.  Thanks for posting it.

i can't think of anything else to add, but something on that list just seems a little off.  "Autistic people have teriffic memories."  is that true for me?  yes and no.  i remember things that most people forget, but i also forget things that most people remember.

Sometimes forgetting is a great trait too.

If only I could control the (not) forgetting... Tongue

I loved the list. I'm tired of negative views of our kind. I love it. Long live Aspie/Autie Pride!

Fantastic! I could throw that at a few people, believe me! Andrew Wakefield for a start!

I forgot to add that it should be mandatory reading for Social Services

At first I liked this list because it seemed so positive, but the more I thought about it it seemed more like another prison to put an entire group of people into.  Read the list again and substitute another phenotype for "autism" and it becomes pretty obvious.  Whether the slant is negative or positive, I think it is important to be very careful when generalizing or we end up with some kind of caricature rather than a well-rounded picture.

I agree that desciptions of "heaven" can be used as descriptions of "prison/hell with golden bars". But it is refreshing to see something like this, just for fun. Not as "The Truth".

Yeah -- it is fun. But then it just had the familiar taste of the "Happy Negro" stuff from 100 years ago.

I'm sure that this group has long since chewed through the list put together by Dr. Tony Attwood and Carol Gray for "discovering" rather than "diagnosing" Aspergers. Perhaps I am just more comfortable with scientese.  Found it here this week: http://www.thegraycenter.org/sectionsdetails.cfm?id=38

GuessWho, what would it take for you to just shut the hell up about your god hating gay people?

You've said it on this forum a thousand times. You haven't added anything new, interesting or rational in the last 999 posts.

A bit of an overstatement, don't you think?  That would mean he hasn't said anything noteworthy in any of his posts!

*grins* Well, he's only up to 991 posts - it just means 8 of them were double-unnoteworthy...

Enter Jesus. Charismatic to be sure (perhaps more so than other such notably charismatic indivuals in history - Gandhi, Malcolm X, David Khoresh, Charles Manson, Hitler) and spouted philosphies which were kindly, passionate, sensible and a little different, but most importantly harmless.

There's a theory that Jesus was a follower of John the Baptist, and that John "switched the roles" in his speeches after the crucifixion because a martyr gets more publicity...

Max,Guesswho...

please dont turn another nice thread into a battleground Sad

if you must argue, can it be conducted via PM's?

(yes,i am aware of how hypocritical that was.you'll notice I stopped though.)

I am certain you have a problem with the Christian God but your issue with me is without merit, as I do not have malice myself, and the Christian faith was scripted by God not me.

You are choosing to continue quoting anti-gay religious sentiments. This is your choice, not "God's choice". The issue with you personally is that you choose to continue posting "God doesn't like gay people" posts.

Regardless of what you think god's opinions are, it is you choosing to do these things. Don't blame it on god.

Hi there,

as a mother of two great guys, both Aspies, ages 12 and 8, I feel so many people with Asperger Syndrome have so much going for them.

It took me a while to be able to see this, even in my own kids since I am an NT myself  but I have never met people who were more honest, determined and punctual.

I would be honered if any of you would go through the trouble of reading this article I wrote about my son's goal to become the first Asperger Astronaut on the moon.

go to: http://www.Asperger-Advice.com/article-a...-teen.html

Please let me know what you think of it, I am open for any suggestions!
