Maybe members could write to local newspapers to comment on NBC's series? Papers publish letters to the editor about topics of current/general interest.
It would have to be Americans only or (foreign nationals living in) America. Last them British citizens or rather 15,000 people decided to influence opinions by writing to their American counterparts there was a rather nasty response... Clark County or Guardian anyone?
I'm confused, could you explain? And also, Newsweek published a companion to the series called "Babies and Autism". Maybe we could write to them too.
Ok I'm saying the idea is good but any members writing in about the NBC series would almost certainly have to be living in the US or who's TV's receive the channel. Otherwise there would be a inevitably large backlash along the lines of people saying: "KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR KIDS YOU (Insert Swearword or multiple swear words/nasty adjectives here) FORIEGNERS!"
This is because no offence intended to anyone who is American but your country as a whole can be pretty insular at times and there are some issues in any country which can't normally be touched by outsiders . An example of this is in politics, when a British broadsheet newspaper called the Guardian invited it's readers to e-mail residents of Clark County in Ohio during the run up to the US presidential election gently stating their opinions. Some of the respones to their letters were to say the least politely dissmissive to say the most "KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF OUR POLITICS. Then again there are issues that I suppose hit a raw nerve.
Newsweek though is another matter as it's a magazine that is sold outside the USA and can be found in some newsagents in other countries, just like the International Herald Tribune. So those from outside the US can write in there.
Call it smart tactics which AFF has so far kept to.
Oh, okay.

Thanks for explaining. You are right, Americans can be very snobby sometimes. I didn't stop to consider that the Today show may not be overseas. Oh, PS, any international people you can order the DVD from NBC's website. I wouldn't recommend it because it's supporting them.
Don't worry. I made the stupid and D.A mistake of treading on US pre-election nerves by speculating on who would win the election and how it would impact the war on terror in a Harry Potter Fanfic. Result was an irate response from an American serviceman and me unsure whether to proceed
This error and it's consequences would be small of the error AFF could make if it didn't watch out.
As for the international DVD might be interesting for the uber-dedicated people among us but personally it would be a waste of money in my opinion for those who have got more pressing concerns
Catffeinated
have you written those letters?? if so post them here!
