Until February 2005 I had a totally irrational phobia about spiders.

I moved to Australia.


Now it is a PERFECTLY RATIONAL fear of spiders!

(A deadly redback set up a web the other day IN MY KITCHEN. Aaaaaargh!!!! )

I'm only temporarily in Australia - my real home is in Co. Cork, Ireland which is on the same time as the UK.

I wasn't aware that the clock was adjustable  - it is showing GMT for me at the top of this page even though the UK is currently on BST.

When a friend was worried about her fastidious MIL finding cobwebs on an impending visit I told her to tell MIL that it was an old country saying -

Do not a spinner's net destroy,
Lest'n your roof may leak,
In any month that have a vowel
Nor any day of week.

Made it up, of course!
