This is a thread to arrange meets with fellow ASDers in your area wherever. It is a fantastic way to meet people. I have seen this work and participated on other boards. It is slightly differnt from formal groups. I have been successful in making friends this way. Something I have never been able to do prior. I want to see it working for ASDers.

So wherever you are, be it Kuala Lumpur or London or Dallas, etc this is an opportunity to put up meets and/or go to the meets. Please feel free to post your meet ideas. There is no prerequisite to what a meet entails. It can be just as simple as meeting at a location or tickets to an event, or going to a museum exhibition. You are welcome to be specific as you like. Naturally some meets tend to be more successful than others. It is always worth a shot, and if your not sure feel free to ask me, and I can try to give ideas based on my experience. Similarly if it is your first time going to a meet, I can give my experience especially if you have difficulty interacting and talking to people. Once a meet’s date is established, give me a PM and I will display all the upcoming meets on this initial post.

I’m not responsible for what goes on in these meets. It is up to the people involved. The organisers and the people going to the meets are responsible for their own safety as adults. I will post some general safety guidelines in due course.

Upcoming Meets:

London Meet Up - West End/Central London [Sunday 26th August]
# Details to be decided
As it put in the opening post there is a meet up scheduled on Sunday 26th of August in West End / Central London. Contact me if you’re interested in this. If you are unable to make it there can be a separated date for those that can't.

A number of people have already said they would be up for it.

The exact details haven’t been decided. Any input would be welcome, also if you have anything that causes difficulties.

Suggestions so far have been going to one of the parks, south bank, museums, and quiet pubs.

Generally speaking, such if it is not tickets to an event. You are free to come later on. You are always free to leave any time. There is no obligation to stay other than for your own enjoyment. I will not chase after people who want to leave, or in the case of panic attacks and meltdowns will leave you alone unless instructed otherwise.
I am very interested in meeting others on the spectrum in Norway. I am living in Stavanger. I do however not feel a big necessity to meet offline.
Anyone in the areas of Allentown or Harrisburg, PA?
PM me.

I would be willing to set up a teen party/get together between now and say Nov. 1st at my brother's old "fishing camp" second house located on an intercoastal waterway in coastal SC. The view and the sunsets are spectacular.

There are three Aspie teens in the general area (two in Chas. 70 miles away- a quick 1.5 hr. drive) and two here. All these teens are between the ages of 15-17, two girls, two boys. All are nice kids.

PM me!

For those not meeting at Waterloo can you wait outside the book shop in the National Theatre (1):

Shortly afterward we will likely be at a table somewhere around the long bar buffet area (2).

I will carry or place an orange in a middle of the table at these three locations.

Hello all I am in Ontario Canada. My area is the Village of Streetsville, right on Lake Ontario I am 28 / male hetero. Answers to the name of Pete. Legally I am Peter Michael Jansen, of Dutch/Polish descent.

Grievously I have a problem with crowds. Too much motion around for too long can lead to panic attacks & meltdowns. The more we get together get together the happier we'll be ...

Probably none of my business, but I'm pretty sure Batman55 lives in Pennsylvania.  Why not PM him and see?

Hullo Jewelie:

No actually Batman55 would not be in my area. Pennslyvania is in the USA while I'm in Canada.

Hmm.

Have to wonder if there are indeed any Aspie females in my area.

bye bye
Hmm, I wonder if it would be worth trying for a Canadian meetup? I knoew there are people from UK, Oz, and the US. I've the sneaking suspicion that I'm wasting keystrokes with this one, but oh well.

Peace out y'all

That's a shame - I can only imagine the conversation if Batman met The Riddler...

There are no support groups near me.  The closest major cities are Dallas-Fort Worth and Oklahoma City.
