Did anyone see this program on TV last week, called Richard is my boyfriend?

It was about relationships between special needs peeps, a dramatized program, a true story, using actors for the part of the girl, the mother and the b/f involved.

The beefage of it was, there was this chick, with fairly severe special needs, who was dating (and banging) this guy, who had down's syndrome, and who seemed a decent enough, well meaning dude.

Mother, was a ***, big time jackbooted nazi-*** harpy of a woman, who aborted this girl's baby by this guy, after buying the tablets online, without medical advice, and tricking the girl into taking it "this will help your morning sickness..."

The way the two of them were treated, it defies belief that it can still be allowed to happen, anyone else see this? what did you make of it?

Lestat.
I wish I had.  What channel was it on?
I presume you mean British television.
Sounds like Mother is a bit like Anne queen of mean.  (That is the only British tele character many of us Yanks can think of.  Those of us who have seen Maryland Public Television at least can relate to Red Dwarf, Doctor Who (Christopher Eccleson looks cool and Rose Tyler is a babe), and Keeping Up Appearances)
My most recent ex-gf has severe needs and I backed off first because of incompatible interests and then because of her needs.  I at least would like to think I'd try a relationship with an interesting significant other.

I am sure there are two sides to every story.  Babies have needs.  People who can't fully care for themselves might seriously consider birth control, in case they recover.

The misuse of RU486 (or whatever) is disturbing, but I can understand meanie Mommy is thinking her daughter will hate this worse giving her newborn away or to its grandmother.

I asked _______ what she thought about kids after she showed joy at a baby at a restaurant last time we met.  Yes, she wants them, I thought so.  I am fairly borderline, but lean toward skipping kids altogether.  I wonder if men are less eager to have kids or more kids with increasing intelligence.  I'd give it 20 percent odds of wanting kids, 10 percent of having a second.  I am "aware of my options to enforce it".

But babies are not toys, though another close friend treated her first daughter like one.  They are human beings and they are a responsibility, and only for those both able and willing.  God knows there are plenty of people who will adopt given the chance.
Yeah I know, I don't know if I would have kids, but it was just the way it was done, this girl seemed to know about contraception, but not how to use it, they had obviously been taught about contraception, but the guy, was shown, it seems, how to put a jonny on a banana.

The mother FOUND said banana, with jonny stuck over it, and blackened, shrivveled up, thats how she realized.

With some SEX EDUFUCKINGCATION, maybe, and without **** forcibly sterilizing the girl, which is what nazimom™ did, jesus...just...***, that program got my goat up.
I hasten to add, my friend is a great mom, and it is merely unusual to a guy like me to coo over a baby girl like that.   But I guess never having had a baby girl I am not one to talk am I?
