I was so happy the other day when I took the girls to the beach, we saw a young autistic boy in the water with his mom. I'm assuming she was his mom. Anyway, they seemed to really be having a good time. The boy was reasonably afraid of the waves, but she seemed to be able to see it on his level and sit with him. Soon he was smiling and happy-stimming.
Of course, then my kids started playing near him and screaming every time a wave hit...
Anyway, I was happy to see a good mom, it seems all I've been hearing lately is about the curebie-moms that see their kid as "lost".
Anyone else seen some good moms/dads of auties? I know there are PLENTY of the here. I always want to go up to them and tell them how awesome they are, but I don't. That seems rought with problems.
