Hi all. I posted here quite much about me and, as some of you may know, I was recently diagnosed with social phobia. I myself tend more towards myself being AS. Reasons:
1) I don't have an extreme fear of social situations (main criterion of SP AFAIK) - well, sometimes I have some fear symptoms (like heart starting beat faster), but not that extreme that IT would disturb me. It's something else than fear which takes me away from social situations.
2)I have some other autitic traits in addition to communication difficulties - namely urge for "routine" and - well, stims, but I can control them if someone else is present.
3) I have minimal motor problems.
What are main diffrences between AS and SP? I will posted this question also in a forum for people with social phobia, but it seems only few people diagnosed with SP ever heard of AS (it seems to be better other way around).
P.S. I didn't mention AS while talking to my psychiatrist. She diagnosed me literally after some 30-40 minutes of talking with myself about my communication problems.
