Did he have AS or not?

What do you think?

What do I think?
I think you should type your question in Google.

You'll already see several debates on whether or not Jim Henson has Asperger's Syndrome.

So Erich, you're saying you dont have an opinion of your own eh....

He does have an opinion of his own. He just got a brand new $299.99 PC and now he thinks he's all h4x0r because he knows how type in a few words into a search engine.

Look, I really don't give a damn if Henson had AS or not. He's long gone. It's not something that I am going to fret about hour after hour. Now, just to prove a point, typing in "Jim Henson" and "Asperger's Syndrome" in Google pointed me to several discussions on the topic, many of them which are not biased by the AS community.

I've owned a successful ISP for several years so I pretty much know how this whole Internet thing works. I know it's proper netiquette (Google that because you are obviously the n00b around here) to use a search engine to find whatever you're looking for first, and then post your question.

You're not calling me a n00b, are you?

No, I was talking to the pinhead who said that I was a n00b who just got a cheap computer and thinks that I can use Google (which is what you should have done in the first place) that I thought I was a hacker.

*ericc runs as fast as he can, huffing and puffing and buts on the breaks with the sound of tires squeeking* (Sorry about that, but I must make a strong enterence for this subject)

DUDE, I was searching on the internet and I found this forum. I don't believe it. Aspies talking about my hero. JIM!

As a Jim Henson historian all I can say is that there are no records of Jim having Asperger's or any other part of the High Funtioning Autism spectrum. Although there are allot of characteristics that match up with him

1. Relating to the creative artistic Asperger's type, Jim also has a strong imagionation. Esspecially when he created The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. (if there are fans who are reading this and thinking, wait a minute.....I thought that was Brian Froud's creations. Technically, Brian help designed the creatures and the worlds but it was Jim's original idea for them before Brian was in the picture.)

Sorry about that. It's my top interest.

2. Jim talks very softly, and before he didn't really like small talk. He would only talk to someone if it's work related. (BINGO, THERE'S AN ASPIE CHARACTER MATCH FOR YOU!) But when Jim became 50 (3 years before his death), he would talk to people about life like he had nothing else better to do.

3. Relating to Aspie males and how they are with their interests, Jim was considered a workaholic because he would work hours on the stuff that he loved most, even with a family, sometimes Jim wouldn't come home until late. During his depression years after Labyrinth wasn't a hit with the audiance, Jim started to work more than usual. Allot of times not wanting to work with The Muppets or come home to his family. Jim was legally seperated from his wife Jane so he could have some time to himself. That's when he wrote letters to his family but he made it clear that they shall not be opened until after his death. I think this lasted for about a year, until he did The Storyteller, I think that he was getting back to his merry self again.

What I find relating to Asperger's about 3. is that some Aspies take things really hard.

I'm sorry if this message is extremely long but as an Aspie that's into Jim Henson history, I had hardly contain myself.

And another thing. I don't think that Jim really had much anxiety personally. Maybe his character Lupo did in a sketch he did on Johnny Carson called Lupo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN23Q4wgJ6w

Jim was probably one of the most calmest people that I know of.
