Wanted to post this in case it might be of help to someone with dual diagnosis of ADHD.  Just had Hrick to eye Dr. specialist and in course of exam she told us they recently found as many as  10 - 20% of ADHD diagnosis are misdiagnosis where attentional issues are actually related to an eye problem called convergence. It is most especially prevalent in those ADHD who have difficulty reading. If caught young enough the problem appears to be correctable (via special lenses and eye exercises). Upon correction, other ADHD symptomology greatly improves.  Unknown whether condition can be improved once eyes are fully developed. Just found out Hrick has it. Dr. indicated although it is readily detectable through testing, it is not a routine test. You have to specifically ask to have the Dr. test for it.

Interesting...I have attentional difficulties similar to those found in ADHD and also dyslexia; this could very well related to me. Thanks Smile
Very interesting. Same for me -- atypical ADHD, plus mild dyslexia

    * eyestrain (especially with or after reading)
    * headaches
    * inability to concentrate
    * short attention span
    * frequent loss of place
    * squinting, rubbing, closing or covering an eye
    * blurred vision
    * sleepiness (especially while reading)
    * trouble remembering what was read
    * words move, jump, swim or appear to float on the page
    * problems with motion sickness and/or vertigo
    * double vision
Max, you may want to see a vision therapist. Be sure to find a good one, though.
Eye conversion. Is that the condition that can be helped with prismatic glasses? In that case my younger brother had it. (It still shows when he's tired) He has been very thoroughly tested (neurologically) about 25 years ago. They thought he had minimal brain disfunction, but was found with perfect brains, but with some connecting problems in the nerves. He also had this eye condition.

He started to learn to read at the age of ten/eleven after he got prismatic glasses. He is slightly dislectic too, but the eye problem was the main thing. When he was a year older he could almost read as good as his peers.

He has worn this glasses for a few years. Then the muscles that position the eyes were so trained that he could do without again.
