Is this that same stupid idea that people with Asperger's shouldn't be punished for committing crimes because "we don't know any better" again? Yea, that'll do a lot to help convince people there's no need to cure us.
I don't think they need to change laws - the idea of one rule for them and one rule for us - just doesn't add up - when so many people with aspergers are gifted with a higher intelligence. However because of poor attitudes in society - and because society too often fails to cater for the needs of those who may not fit with 'system' or culture - a diagnosis of aspergers and any surrounding circumstances associated with this - - should be taken into account when assessing a verdict and sentencing.
