The "as yet unknown environmental" factor in autism that they will find will be testosterone or other hormones. It might not be a factor in all cases of autism as genes influencing sensitivity to such hormones might be a factor, rather than levels of hormones alone. I bet they find autism associated with younger mothers or first-borns.
