We need both separate enclaves/islands and integration - home for like souls to get together and return to, for reasons of safety and certainty (hospitals for the wounded of mind and body, sanctuaries, whatever you want to call them) plus no-mans lands for mutual interchange with ordinary people. Boredom will lead us out to the latter as fear and life injuries, will lead us back into the former
