A Lot of People Do'nt Seem to Utilize They're Minds Freely on This Topic. How Could a God Exist When All The Bad Things in The World? Also Where Does he Live? If Space is Infinite(Science Knows This For a Fact) Then Where is They're Room For a God?
Anyone Ever Heard of Richard Dawkings? Read His Books if You Think That A God is Possible. He Proves it With Facts And is A Biologist. Are You A Biologist?RolleyesRolleyesRolleyesRolleyes Than You Can't Talk to Him Unless You Have The Degree.

I Do'nt Understand How Someone Could Still Inforce Something so Childish And Primative. No Dissing on The Opinions(or e-pinions TongueTongueTongue) of Others, I'ts  Just Not For me And I Do'nt Understand. Discuss Your Religion Ponds. (Ponders/Pools of Thought). CoolCoolCoolCoolCool
So there is no proof god exists.
There is no proof god does not exist either.
If you believe in god, or not, life is here. Worrying about an afterlife does no-one good.
Living to earn a better afterlife is not important. Life is there to live. The force of life is miracle enough.
I won't stop you honoring the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
"Diety of Choice"? You are not taking a diet because of the Flying Spaghetti Monster I hope? (sorry could not resist :-), I don't like diets)

Do I see a bit of irony here? "Dissing on the opinions" is not an intelligent way to try and convince people that your arguments are valid.

I am an atheist, and yes, I have read a few of Richard Dawkins' (that's "Dawkins", not "Dawkings"[/i][/i]) books, but just because he is a biologist does not mean he is infallible or automatically correct. Everything (including what Dawkins says) must be viewed skeptically and carefully evaluated, and not just taken as blind truth. That is thinking scientifically.

The way I see it, it is true that no one can prove for certain that supernatural beings/events have not existed, are not existing, or never will exist. We can only form hypotheses based on the evidence we have, but as we know the world today, all of this evidence seems to point solely to naturalistic processes. No shred of scientific evidence, when properly evaluated without being biased by whatever presuppositions a person may have (such as religion), points to anything supernatural occuring in the past or present. If there is no evidence to support the existence of the Abrahamic god or other deities, they might as well not exist. If they might as well not exist, then there is no point in believing in them.

Yeah... Thanks for the lesson....Grammar Nazi!!!!

if we Ca'nt Prove A God or Unprove Him Then Explain Why They're is no Flying Teapot in The Asteroid Belt? do You Know This For A Fact? Can You Prove it? Does That Make it Any Less Completely INSANE?!?
You Claim to be A Strong Athiest But You Sound More Like A Weak Agnostic.

My god the quality of religious debate has gone downhill. Our "friend" crud420 is now banned as he appears to be a troll based on other threads. Please don't feed the troll. Meanwhile, if anyone wants a decent religious debate i'm always up for one Smile

Shhhhhhh! You'll ruin my carefully cultivated image as a mean, mean bear who picks on innocent bigots. Wink

My boyfriend says my avatar should be the other way around -- mean bear on the outside, teddy bear on the inside.

(Totally unrelated, but I found the following message when trying to post this reply funny: You are trying to post a message too quickly after posting a previous message. Please wait 1 more second. As if a second makes much difference. I realize this is because one must set a limit somewhere, and that it's probably hardcoded in the board software, but it's amusing nonetheless.)

*grins* It's actually 60 seconds you have to wait between posts - you must have pressed the button after 59...

I don't know if God exists.
I think that I have to believe he does, because if he does & I don't believe, then I'm scared that he might ' get me'.

I think that God & religion are entirely separate issues.

This is a mathematical argument called "Pascal's Wager" - Scott Adams did a piece on it a while ago (http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_dilbe...wager.html)

I've always thought of it more as a way of pointing out that mathematics isn't a useful tool in helping to pick a religion.

Only if you're thinking of established religions. If you have an idea of god that doesn't mesh with these, then you've got your own personal religion...

Does this thread have a reason to be here or is it just someones fun new idea to piss off and alienate some members?

I am not keen on the title of this post because it is very one sided, but, I do think the discussion topic can be useful for practicing discussion techniques in general. Whilst I would never change my Aspieness in any way, I do observe Neurotypicals, and think it is important to try to learn how to interact with them without them thinking that you are arguing. Because this subject is very emotive, I think it is a good topic for practice.

I do not personaly believe in God, but obviously I think everybody is entitled to their beliefs. A friend of mine said the other day that she believes in God because of a realisation she had. She said that the realisation that she knew the universe was infinite (something she says is incomprehensible) and that there is no 'Brickwall at the end of the universe' is what led her to believe in God. I said to her that God was the brick wall.

I do not think this thread should alienate anybody provided we all remember to respect each others beliefs.
